Chlordiazepoxide 5 mg & Sustained Release Mebeverine Hydrochloride 135 mg Capsules
INDICATIONS:
CHOMEBRIN is indicated for the management of:
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
- Abdominal pain, spasms, flatulence, and discomfort related to IBS
- Excessive tension and anxiety associated with gastrointestinal conditions
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Chlordiazepoxide:
- Binds to benzodiazepine (BZD) receptors on the GABA-A receptor complex in the central nervous system (CNS)
- Enhances the action of GABA, increasing chloride ion influx and producing sedative, anxiolytic, and muscle relaxant effects
- Helps normalize excessive excitatory activity, reducing stress-related IBS symptoms
Mebeverine (Sustained Release):
- A direct-acting smooth muscle relaxant
- Reduces gastrointestinal motility and spasms without affecting normal gut movement
- Also helps in decreasing gastric acid secretion, providing relief from IBS symptoms
