Description
MEFIRA Suspension is a pediatric oral suspension formulated with Mefenamic Acid, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and Paracetamol, a well-established analgesic and antipyretic. The combination offers rapid and sustained relief from fever, mild-to-moderate pain, and inflammatory conditions commonly encountered in pediatric practice.
Composition
Each 5 ml contains:
- Mefenamic Acid IP – 50 mg
- Paracetamol IP – 125 mg
- Flavoured Syrup Base – q.s.

Indications
MEFIRA Suspension is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of:
- Fever

Mode of Action
Mefenamic Acid
- Inhibits Cyclooxygenase (COX-1 & COX-2) enzymes.
- Reduces prostaglandin synthesis responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever.
- Provides analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects.
Paracetamol
- Acts centrally to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
- Effectively reduces fever by acting on the hypothalamic temperature-regulating center.
- Provides analgesic action for mild to moderate pain.
Combined Action

Age Group Recommended Dose 2–5 Years 5 mL (1 teaspoonful) 6–12 Years 10 mL (2 teaspoonfuls) Above 12 Years 15 mL (3 teaspoonfuls) - Shake well before use.
- Administer using the provided measuring cup or measuring spoon.
- Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
