Description
BERACT Forte is an oral dry syrup containing Amoxycillin 400 mg and Clavulanate Potassium 57 mg per 5 mL after reconstitution. It offers broad-spectrum antibacterial coverage and is commonly prescribed for respiratory, ENT, urinary, skin, and soft tissue infections in pediatric patients.
Composition
Each 5 mL of reconstituted suspension contains:
- Amoxycillin – 400 mg
- Clavulanate Potassium – 57 mg

Mode of Action
- Amoxycillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death.
- Clavulanate Potassium inhibits β-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, protecting amoxycillin from degradation.
- Together, they provide broad-spectrum bactericidal activity, including coverage against many β-lactamase-producing pathogens.
Dosage
- Dose should be based on the child’s body weight, age, and severity of infection.
- Usually administered twice daily (every 12 hours) or as directed by the physician.

Administration
