Mode of Action
The two active ingredients work synergistically to provide complete allergy control.
Levocetirizine Hydrochloride
Levocetirizine is a second-generation selective H1-antihistamine that blocks peripheral histamine H1 receptors. It effectively relieves symptoms such as:
- Sneezing
- Runny nose
- Nasal itching
- Watery eyes
- Skin itching and urticaria
Because of its high receptor selectivity, it provides effective allergy relief with minimal sedation in most patients.
Montelukast Sodium
Montelukast is a selective leukotriene receptor antagonist that blocks cysteinyl leukotriene (CysLT1) receptors. Leukotrienes are inflammatory mediators responsible for:
- Airway inflammation
- Bronchoconstriction
- Nasal congestion
- Mucosal swelling
- Increased mucus production
By inhibiting leukotriene activity, Montelukast helps improve nasal airflow, reduces inflammation, and supports long-term allergy control.
Combined Action
The synergistic combination helps to:
- Control immediate allergic reactions
- Reduce nasal congestion
- Relieve sneezing and runny nose
- Reduce itching and watery eyes
- Improve breathing comfort
- Decrease airway inflammation
- Help prevent recurrent allergy symptoms
